An-Sophie Van Parys is a staff member at Born in Belgium and postdoctoral researcher at the Ghent University. Driven and passionate about perinatal mental health, she combines academic research with over ten years of clinical practice experience. She shares her expertise through education and training for professionals and, together with Klaas Bauters, is the driving force behind the Belgian Alliance for Perinatal Mental Health (BAPMH), which stands up for parents and babies in the first 1000 days.

Klaas Bauters is the Mother and Baby department manager at the psychiatric hospital Karus in Ghent. He has built strong expertise in caring for mentally vulnerable mothers and their babies, and is an advocate for structural improvements in perinatal mental health care. He is active in Perinet, guest lecturer at various universities of applied sciences and board member of the non-profit organization Cloud in my head. Together with An-Sofie Van Parys, he is the driving force behind the Belgian Alliance for Perinatal Mental Health (BAPMH), to strengthen the voice of parents and babies in the first 1000 days.
